Acupuncture works to help maintain your body’s equilibrium. It involves the insertion of very fine, sterile needles into specific points on the body to regulate the flow of ‘qi’, your body’s vital energy. For a number of lifestyle and environmental reasons, your energy can become disturbed, depleted or blocked, which can result in some symptoms of pain and illness. Traditional acupuncture, which in China and other far eastern cultures still features in mainstream healthcare, both as a stand-alone therapy and in combination with western medicine, can sometimes be an effective therapy to help restore balance and promote physical and emotional harmony. If you are in doubt whether acupuncture might be able to help you, please feel free to call me to discuss your problem.
Acupuncture treatment is aimed at the root of your condition as well as your main symptoms. This approach helps with resolving your problem and enhancing your feeling of wellbeing. You may notice other niggling problems resolve as your main health complaint improves. Many people come to acupuncture for help with specific symptoms or to relieve specific pains like osteoarthritis of the knee. Some use acupuncture because they feel generally unwell but have no obvious diagnosis. Others choose acupuncture simply to enhance their feeling of wellbeing. Acupuncture is considered suitable for all ages, and it can be used effectively alongside conventional medicine.
Acupuncture is now widely used and accepted all over the world. In the UK more and more people are finding out what acupuncture can do for them.
Acupuncture has become increasingly popular in the UK over the last few decades and people are turning to acupuncture for a wide variety of health reasons.
The first session will last approximately 2 hours and consist of a full traditional diagnosis (about 1 hour) followed by the first acupuncture treatment. Each subsequent treatment will last about 1 hour.
Is acupuncture for you?
I offer a free 15 minute informal chat to help you decide whether acupuncture treatment could help you with your particular health issues. Alternatively we can discuss these over the telephone before you decide whether to make an appointment or not. Most people are unaware that acupuncture can be an effective therapy to help restore balance and promote physical and emotional harmony - this is mainly because acupuncture treats the person rather than the symptoms and it is by rebalancing the body's energies that the symptoms will abate. You can contact me either by telephone on 01568 613116 or 07791 738596.
